Comparative Study - Ministry of Construction - Jan - Apr 2006

Since WTO accession, the need for better integration of Chinese legislative and regulatory systems as well as its technical standards in line with world trade rules and international norms is more pressing. The Ministry of Construction (MOC) has expressed its interest in engaging in dialogue with the EU on a range of topics covering regulatory reform, market access both in China and internationally and technical standards. On this background, MOC has agreed to carry out a comparative study in order to identify important structural, legislative and technical comparisons between the European and Chinese construction industries.

This study will provide an objective basis to prioritise future technical assistance activities which will have the most impact and ensure that common EU-China concerns are addressed.
