The seminar was carried out in Shanghai on 17th and 18th Oct and was designed to facilitate a clearer understanding of EU standardisation and conformity assessment procedures, both on a horizontal as well as on a sectoral basis to Chinese government officials and industry representatives. It was also meant to enable EU industry and officials to gain a better understanding of China’s market access entry legislation, particularly in comparison with EU legislation. This 2-day activity was composed of four sessions: plenary session in the morning of 17th, two parallel sessions held on 17th afternoon and 18th morning respectively on mechanical and electro-technical sectors, WEEE and RoHS session on 18th afternoon.
Around 250 people attended the seminar. The attendees included CIQ officials and industry representatives from both EU and China.
